David Frank Hallock

U.S. Veteran

David Frank Hallock, age 84 of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital. David was born in Atwater on June 7, 1927, the son of Earl and Gladys (Kump) Hallock. He has lived in Newton Falls since 1969, formerly of Palmyra Twp.

David married the former Janice Lee Vogel on January 9, 1948. This past January they celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage. David was a tool repairman and auto worker with General Motors retiring in 1990. He was a US Army Air Corp. veteran serving in Japan during WWII.

David was a member of the Newton Falls United Methodist Church. He enjoyed snow skiing and woodworking.

Loving memories of David will be carried on by his wife, Janice Hallock of Newton Falls, daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Carmen Gumino of Palmyra Twp., sons, Thomas Hallock & his companion, Karren Stepanak of Fowler, Jeff & Susan Hallock of Freedom, Brian & Ellie Hallock of Lordstown, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his sons, James and David, his daughter, Diedra and three brothers, William, Richard and Joseph.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at James Funeral Home where funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. Pastor Gordon Ferguson will officiate. David will be laid to rest at Palmyra West Cemetery.
