Alma F. (Perrine) Dishong

Alma F. Dishong age 89 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday April 9, 2024 at her residence. She was born on Sept. 7, 1934 in Gassaway, WV the daughter of the late Olen W. Perrine and Ada A. (Jackson) Perrine.  Alma had lived in Newton Falls since 1957, formerly of Gassaway, WV where she graduated from Gassaway High School in the Class of 1953.  She married the love of her life, Amos T. Dishong on Aug. 30, 1957 and they have enjoyed 49 years of marriage together until his death on July 20, 2007.  Alma worked as a Manager at the Amos Family Farm & Feed Store in Bristolville, OH for over 15 years.  She and her husband were long time members of the Newton Falls First Baptist Church.  Alma loved her flowers, gardening around the house and most of all loved spending time with her children and grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Amos, 1 daughter: Kathy (Dishong) Murphy, and 1 grandson: David Murphy.

Alma is survived by: 1 daughter: Amie & John Crowder Jr. of Newton Falls, 1 son-in-law Chuck Murphy; 6 grandchildren: Joshua, John III, Kaylin (Daniel) Williams, Kelsie (Matthew) Sulzener, Jarred (Bailey Shade), Jeff (Rachael) Murphy, and 10 great grandchildren: Taylor, Payton, Karlie, Seri, Trenton, Hunter, Austin, Brodie, Gracelyn, & Micah.

Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at 11:00am with Rev. Steve Spurlock officiating.  Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Monday April 15, 2024 from 6:00- 8:00pm. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Amos at Newton Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations please be made to either the First Baptist Church 2640 South Canal St. Newton Falls, OH 44444 or the Newton Falls Fire Department 45 East Broad St. Newton Falls, OH 44444 in her name.
